PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Christchurch Bus Interchange is a sustainable, state-of-the-art bus facility in the heart of Christchurch, New Zealand. With its bold architecture, this facility is the central anchor point of Christchurch’s public transportation network.
Over 24,800 sq. ft. of RevealShield SA Self-Adhered membrane was used as water resistive, vapor permeable air barrier below an open joint rain screen. The rain screen cladding features Fiber-C panels in three different surface finishes. In addition, 1,620 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered membrane was used as a water resistive, vapor permeable air barrier behind cedar planks.
Due to a very tight timeline of one year from concept design to completion, this project required a large amount of cooperation and good will between all parties involved. VaproShield products were selected because of their installation efficiency and immediate durability, improving the short and long term performance of the building envelope.
Christchurch Bus Interchange is a New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) rated building.
