PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Washington Place is a state-of-the-art development in Tukwila, WA that boasts 370 market-rate apartments as well as a 189-room business hotel. Over 230,000 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered and RevealShield SA Self-Adhered was installed on the tower, which is set to be the tallest in the city.
Due to the height of the building, high velocity winds threatened to tear off any mechanically attached membrane. The tenacious and innovative WrapShield SA Self-Adhered and RevealShield SA Self-Adhered bonded directly to the substrate, eliminating the possibility of wind tear or damage.
Highly UV-stable RevealShield SA Self-Adhered was installed behind the building’s open joint cladding. Windows were then flashed with VaproLiqui-flash to ensure maximum thermal efficiency. This combination of extremely air-tight VaproShield membranes and VaproLiqui-Flash enabled the architect to remove a layer of exterior insulation, saving thousands in labor and material costs.
Washington Place will feature a ground-level pool and four-story parking garage with 300 stalls. The building is scheduled to open in the spring of 2017.

Architects specified WrapShield SA Self-Adhered and RevealShield SA Self-Adhered, as the highly durable membranes bond directly to the substrate; eliminating the possibility of wind tear.
