SlopeShield Plus Self-Adhered
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Evergreen High School, located in Seattle, WA, recently completed the installation of SlopeShield Plus Self-Adhered from VaproShield over its mass timber substrate. Covering an impressive 110,000 square feet, the self-adhered roofing underlayment was chosen for its superior moisture management properties, critical in the Pacific Northwest's rainy climate. The air and permeable vapor retarder membrane ensures that any trapped moisture can escape while preventing water ingress, providing optimal protection for the mass timber structure. This innovative product integrates seamlessly into the building envelope, enhancing the long-term durability and energy efficiency of the school.
The membrane's high permeability allows the mass timber to breathe, mitigating the risk of condensation and mold growth. Additionally, it’s designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, ensuring the building remains protected throughout construction.
