SlopeShield Plus Self-Adhered
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The construction of Fairview Middle School in Bremerton, WA exemplifies innovation and sustainability in educational infrastructure. Featuring a mass timber substrate, the project incorporated SlopeShield Plus SA Self-Adhered to ensure optimal moisture management and protection. Over 25,000 sq.ft. of SlopeShield Plus SA was installed at the factory onto mass timber panels streamlining the construction process, reducing labor costs, and field installation time.
One of the key advantages of SlopeShield Plus SA Self-Adhered lies in its exceptional moisture management capabilities — blocking bulk water intrusion while concurrently drying mass timber through moisture vapor diffusion, crucial for safeguarding the mass timber substrate against potential damage. This feature enhances the durability and resilience of the building and contributes to maintaining a healthy indoor environment for students and faculty. By integrating SlopeShield Plus SA into the Fairview Middle School, the architectural team demonstrated a commitment to both sustainable construction practices and the long-term well-being of the educational facility, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for generations to come.
