SlopeShield Plus Self-Adhered
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Malibu Club, a Christian youth camp, required a re-roofing and replacement of their old cedar shake roof, which necessitated over 10,000` sq. ft. of SlopeShield Plus SA Self-Adhered under new metal roofing. Situated on a remote inlet accessible only by seaplane or boat, this project presented unique logistical challenges. Despite these roadblocks, including exposure to the elements for 180 days due to material delays and unexpected repairs, SlopeShield Plus SA ensured the building remained dry and safe for occupancy throughout the project.
Ky Griffin, Senior Development Director at Malibu Club expressed immense gratitude for this unexpected relief and explained that at one point during the 6 months of exposure they “received over 3 inches of rain in a weekend, [with] ZERO leaks” adding that “SlopeShield Plus SA proved to be an outstanding protective barrier.”
Even without the final roof installation, SlopeShield Plus SA’s exceptional durability allowed the camp to operate without any disruption during construction. “The previous winter left us with buckets all over the 5,000 square foot dining hall. This year from May - January with only SlopeShield installed, we had no leaks, and no buckets."
The product’s ability to self-dry and maintain its durability under the changeable Canadian climate and foot traffic from crews made it the ideal choice for this challenging re-roof project.
“The integrity of the material remained intact, with no signs of deterioration or compromise even after prolonged exposure to the elements,” explained the client representative. “This product's resilience exceeded our expectations, providing reliable protection and peace of mind solution for our unique environmental and remote challenges.” - Ky Griffin, Senior Development Director at Malibu Club
