PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A multi-family apartment complex located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, 240 Ionia was designed with tenants in mind. The building features over 27,000 sq. ft. of WRAPSHIELD® Water Resistive Vapor Permeable Air Barrier Sheet to ensure building longevity. By allowing moisture to escape the building envelope, WRAPSHIELD® reduces incidents of mold, mildew and rot. WRAPSHIELD® also provides residents of 240 Ionia superior indoor air quality and reduces high energy costs that typically occur due to air leakage.

WRAPSHIELD® was mechanically attached using VaproCaps and non-corrosive fasteners. The rough openings of doors and windows were sealed using VaproFlashing and VaproLiqui-Flash, a vapor permeable liquid applied flashing. All vertical seam treatments were sealed using VaproBond weather resistive sealant.

When completed, 240 Ionia will consist of three floors of resident parking and four floors of 1 to 3 bedroom apartments.
