PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This stunning private residence on the Atlantic Ocean used over 4500 sq. ft. of WrapShield RS Rain Screen 7mm behind the stucco façade, and RevealShield for open joint rain screen systems behind the Resysta® rain screen cladding system.
The installer was reluctant to use a traditional water resistive barrier because of high failure rates and a liquid applied WRB would have been impractical with the high amount of sand creating airborne contaminates.
WrapShield RS 7mm was installed on the OSB substrate and then covered with black paperback lath paper in preparation for stucco. WrapShield RS Rain Screen will help to reduce the incidence of moisture related damage and dry out the cementitious stucco by creating an air space and drainage plane behind the stucco. RevealShield, with its integrated tape and a pre-marked lap line, ensured proper shingled effect installation.
Upper window VaproFlashing SA Self-Adhered installed around the window, WrapShield RS Rain Screen 7mm (black/orange) installed as a field membrane provides an air cavity and drainage plane for the stucco façade helping to reduce the incidence of moisture related damage.
