WrapShield SA Self-Adhered
Over 19,000 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered Water Resistive Vapor Permeable Air Barrier Sheet was installed at 345 State Street Apartments in Grand Rapids, MI.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
An $11.5 million 34-unit affordable housing project is being developed in Grand Rapids, MI by Brookstone Capital. The building features over 19,000 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA® Self-Adhered Water Resistive Vapor Permeable Air Barrier Sheet Membrane, which will contribute to the sustainable, energy-efficiency of the building seeking LEED certification. WrapShield SA® Self-Adhered reduces high energy costs that typically occur due to air leakage. It also allows damp sheathing to dry quickly and moisture vapor to escape, ensuring good indoor air quality while reducing incidence of mold, mildew, lumber distortion and metal corrosion. Of the 34 apartments in the historic Heritage Hill district, 28 are two-bedroom and 6 are one-bedroom units. All apartments will be affordable housing, which means construction will be partially financed by low income housing tax credits.
