PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas is the new home of the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball team, and features over 240,000 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered.

As the ambitious project utilized multiple substrates— gypsum, metal, precast concrete—an advanced and versatile building envelope solution was necessary. WrapShield SA’s innovative pressure-sensitive adhesive bonded directly to all the substrate materials and allowed seamless one-pass installation. The multiple cladding types—ACM and brick—were no match for the highly compatible WrapShield SA, which installed under VaproShims to create the desired rain screen drainage plane for cladding, while sealing fastener penetrations. Rough openings were flashed with Vapro-SS Flashing, Vapro-Liqui-Flash, and VaproBond—all of which drastically reduced installation time and eliminated the need for untested outside components.

Free of harmful VOCs and entirely self-adhering, WrapShield SA was easily installed on the complex overhead soffits and facades. Conventional products would have required spray-on, chemical adhesives which pollute and drip during application jeopardizing crew safety.

Despite the lengthy phase-construction, no additional specialized equipment mobilization was needed, as WrapShield SA can be exposed for up to six months prior to cladding installation. The massive development is expected to be completed by March of 2020.
