PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Over 20,000 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered was installed on the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office in Lawrenceville, GA.
Designed to be LEED certified, the $5.7 million-dollar project utilized the highest standard of sustainable materials, recognizing WrapShield SA Self-Adhered as the WRB/Air-barrier of choice. Entirely self-adhering, it did not require any toxic primer—protecting workers and occupants.
Exposed to condensation and humidity throughout the construction phase, WrapShield SA’s exceptionally high permeability was crucial in drying out the plywood substrate during and after construction. The rough-openings were flashed with over 2,000 lin. ft. of Vapro-SS Flashing, VaproBond, and VaproFlashing SA Self-Adhered.
By using VaproShield’s solution-based approach with components designed and tested to work together, the risk of moisture-related damage will be greatly reduced for the life of the building. VaproShield membranes contributed LEED credits in the Energy & Atmosphere and Indoor Environmental categories.
