PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Over 90,000 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered water-resistive, vapor permeable, air-barrier sheet membrane was installed on The Lydian, an 8-story mixed-use development in downtown Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood.
The $40 million project, developed by Confluence Co. and Palisade Partners, aims to achieve the highest energy-efficient standards. WrapShield SA Self-Adhered was an ideal WRB/Air-barrier for the building, which is located in a tight, urban construction space. Entirely self-adhering, it did not require any toxic primer, thereby protecting nearby pedestrians and walkers. The Lydian also utilized VaproMat in order to create a cost effective and positive drainage cavity behind the porous stucco, which traditionally does not incorporate a rain screen cavity. VaproLiqui-Flash was then applied around the Lydian’s abundant windows for a water-tight seal. Phase construction friendly and ideal for projects with tight timelines, WrapShield SA Self-Adhered required less labor and installed quickly – saving developers time and money.
Once completed, the Lydian will feature 129 apartments, 15,000 square feet of office space, and close to 10,000 square feet of retail.
