PROJECT DESCRIPTION

25,000 sq. ft of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered was installed on Vickery Falls Condominiums in the heart of Roswell, GA’s historic district—a 640-acre area showcasing historic sites, homes, monuments, and churches.

Huffman Group (GC) and Gary Reece (Architect) aimed to design a building that could handle the air-barrier and moisture-control issues typical of SIPS-panel substrates. With this objective in mind, the pair partnered with Jim Sears of Williamson Associates to ensure proper detailing—a crucial step towards delivering a successful project with long-term energy performance.

Having worked with VaproShield on the highly-complex Radius at the Banks project in Cincinnati, Sears knew that VaproShield was the optimal solution to the moisture-control challenges facing the project. VaproShield’s WrapShield SA with VaproMat offered a single WRB/Air-Barrier solution and a positive drainage matrix that was compatible with the mixed cladding materials of brick, stucco, board and batten, and fiber-cement siding.

The multi-family condominium is slated for EarthCraft Multifamily certification, which will distinguish it as an operationally cost-effective building that is energy, water, and resource efficient.
