PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Victorian Square is a 13,000 sq. ft. project in Aspen, Colorado that aims to celebrate the dynamic spirit of Aspen’s mountain culture. The unique design approach informed key decisions, such as the inclusion of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered into a compatible family of products that offered a solution for complex detailing. WrapShield SA Self Adhered was easily installed over gypsum sheathing and FRT plywood, as its adhesive can bond to virtually any substrate. Once applied, workers had a complete WRB/Air Barrier system for the state-of-the-art ventilated brick rainscreen façade. WrapShield SA required no special installation equipment or weather restrictions, which afforded architects the creative freedom to feature cladding applications with highly unique assemblies and details, such as windows outside of the structure.
Designed to symbolize the relationship between civilization and nature, the architects behind Victorian Square wanted to create a structure that would honor the natural splendor of the Rocky Mountains, while also utilizing the highest standard of sustainable design. WrapShield SA Self-Adhered accommodated the requirements with ease, and will contribute towards LEED certification following project completion.
