PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Over 80,000 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered was installed on Zia Building, a 450-unit mixed-use development in Denver’s historic Sunnyside neighborhood.

The $123 million dollar project developed by Confluence Co. aims to achieve the highest energy-efficient standards. WrapShield SA Self-Adhered was an ideal WRB/Air-barrier for the building, located in a tight, urban construction space. Entirely self-adhering, it did not require any toxic primer over the gypsum sheathing, thereby protecting nearby pedestrians and walkers. Installers used VaproShims under the brick cladding to create the desired vertical rain screen drainage plane and seal fastener penetrations.

VaproLiqui-Flash and WrapFlashing SA Self-Adhered were also applied around Zia’s abundant windows for a water-tight seal. Phase construction friendly and ideal for projects with tight timelines, WrapShield SA Self-Adhered required less labor and installed quickly – saving developers time and money.

Once completed, Zia will feature a cross-fit inspired fitness center, a pool deck overlooking the skyline, and approx. 10,000 square feet of retail space.
